Hey, I'm Emily
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine tasks felt tougher than they should.
The Transition Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. But gradually habits formed. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Anchor Murmur Orbit
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in United Kingdom.
What This Website Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from life in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever a meaningful change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United Kingdom continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Emily
